Today we had our annual trip to the allergist and asthma specialist for Ry. I absolutely dread these appointments and ask (ok beg) Kev to go in my place, it is so traumatizing for me.
What it entails:
Putting a full body bind on Ry so that the nurse can prick her with 30 different scratch tests causing welts and hives to form all over her back.
Trying to hold it together as Ry pleads through her sobs "I want daddy" and "no more pokies".
Watching movies and bribing her with marshmallows to forgive me for doing this to her.
The results:
Add to her existing list of allergies (milk, egg, and peanuts) trees, grass and weeds.
Apparently she has Asthma, which explains why she's had a "cough" since January.

I cant imagine having to go to that appointment every year! At least it is over for another year!
Poor little girl!!! I think she deserves more than marshmello's! How about some soy icecream? ok that sounds gross... um how about a PONY!!! Tell Kevin to get her a pony! Wait she might be allergic, this is breaking my heart!
Oh Stef that breaks my heart. I think I'd probably just cry the whole time with her. I'm glad it's over. So sorry she has so many allergies. Will she grow out of any? You will become an amazing and creative cook. Darling picture of her.
Matt Singer's wife here which makes us cousin in law in laws. So sorry about the allergies. My mary has egg, soy, peanut, grass, dogs, etc. I feel your pain and if you don't have anyone around who understands, then we really need to chat! The grass is the worst for us come spring/summer b/c her skin totally breaks out and she has to wear pants and socks almost always. I can control food, but I can't control the environment....grrrrr.
Looking forward to meeting one of these years. Maybe someone will put together a McMinn family reunion. Or I guess we could always hook up at an allergy convention!
Oh, that sounds awful! I am glad it is over. Poor thing (both of you). We need to get together soon for one last party before we leave.
So sorry Stef, I was hoping that the next test would reveal that Rylee has grown out of a couple of the things that she is allergic to. Instead he added to the list, shoot! She looks adorable in the picture! It was fun chatting on Sunday.
Poor thing! Want to take her out tomorrow and expose her to some of the things she is allergic to?...namely trees, grass and weeds?
DANG IT STEF.I'm think I feel worse for you than Ry.We better hit cherry creek on Friday to play inside where there are no weeds just giant sausages.
but she is such a beautiful and sweet girl. i wouldn't change a thing because then whe just wouldn't be rylie.
That makes me so sad. Poor girl. poor Mommy! So hard to watch your kids go through anything. Thinking you should start a recipe blog...I'm sure a lot of people would be interested in learning how to cook without some of those foods.
Aww...poor baby! And poor mommy! That would be so dang hard to watch that! How frustrating! But I do love that picture of her! What a resilient, happy little girl!
